you could feel him getting agitated. his mind faltering from the plan. that was usual though. the Joker didnt make plans. but this was important.

this deal had to be made. no killing. no threats.

your hand settled on his thigh and he took a deep breath in, forcing himself to steady. you had that affect. being able to keep his eyes on the prize. you didnt do it often, hell, the Joker liked to have his fun.

but he knew this was important, just the same as you, which was why you were there. the ‘angel on his shoulder’ the love of his life.

“i can not believe you got the Joker, a psychopath, to agree to a blind date!” you said angrily at your best friend, The Enchantress, who grinned at you.

“i just wanted some fun.”

“well cancel it.” you stated.

“too late.”

she turned you around and you came face to face with Mr. J himself. he looked down at you, a grin spreading across his face, “hows it going doll?”

he had closed down his whole club just for you. because life had been tough lately. so he was going to pamper the shit out of you (like any good gangster would)

“care to dance pumpkin?” he asked, holding out a hand to you.

“you did all of this for me J?” you looked around.

“of course i did sugar.” he pulled you to his chest as the music started, “you’re my queen.”

“Princess!” his voice rang out. Frost opened the door for you to enter the room, trying not to look at the mayhem in front of you, you focused on Mr. J.  you could tell by his movements that he was enraged.

he got like this… a lot. and sometimes it was better to keep a level head, control, but the only thing that could control his tantrums was you. his opponents couldent see him so frazzled, so ready to do anything even if he got himself killed.

you wrapped your arms around him, gently running your fingers through his hair. he closed his eyes and pressed into your touch, that familiar purring sound erupting from his chest, “you always know how to keep daddy me in check, dont cha sugar?”

“J, come here.” you said.

“what is it sugar?” J asked, too encapsulated in his ‘project’ to look up.

you went to stand behind him, chest against his back you ran your fingers through his messy hair. he only ever let loose when you two were alone, but you enjoyed when his hair was messy. the silkiness of it through your fingers.

a growl rumbled in his chest but a smile spread across his face, “thanks sweets.”

his eyes followed your every movement, then came to analyze your face. you were beautiful. if Mr. J didnt know any better he would have said you were an angel.

he knew in that moment he had to have you.

he’d pamper you with gifts, cars, money-anything you wanted in life. he’d do anything to make you his, anything to make you smile the way you were smiling in that moment.

his fingers skimmed your face so lightly you questioned whether he made contact at all, “my little bird.” he whispered, “so fragile.” his hand went to the wall next to your head, fist clenching, “you know i would ruin anything that dared to touch my little bird.”

******

it appears i have a thing for the petname ‘little bird’ when being spoken by hella powerful men

(no Harley)

the guy was a predator, you could tell from the body language, the way he walked through the building like he owned the place set your teeth on edge. he turned and his eyes locked with yours.

your heart jumped and he stopped. a grin spread across his face, “well well well.” he looked like the cat who got the cream, “what do we have here?”
