you were shocked when you felt a back press against yours but after the first moment of confusion you recognized the figure as Loki just based on his posture, you laughed.

“glad to see me darling?” he asked over the sound of fighting as he protected your back from enemies.

“you know i am. i knew you couldn’t resist coming to battle with me.” 

“don’t get over your head Sweetheart, i came for power.”

you rolled your eyes, “why is it so hard for you to be upfront about the fact you’re sweet on me? just admit you like me.” 

“fine.”

you turned to question him but instead, his lips met yours, hand going to your waist as he dipped you down. for a moment you forgot about the battle and chaos around you and just marveled in his lips. you pulled away and stared into his eyes, then you saw the person coming for his back and you jumped back into action.

you’d have to figure this out later.

“well you cleaned up nicely.” Kovacs grinned, eyes dragging over you and the super expensive outfit that fir perfectly. 

“wish i could say the same but you are bleeding.” you laughed, cupping his face to inspect the cuts, “what happened to you?”

“well i have a reason for us not to pursue each other, obviously.” you scoffed.

“and… what is it?” Rick looked up at you,

“um…. you see… i….” you sighed, “you distract me way too much already! imagine if we were actually together!”

“i have imagined it and i dont think it would be that bad.” he stood up and you had to look up at him, “in fact,” he brushed your hair behind your ear, “i think it would be good… better than good.”

you laughed, “okay i can tell from that reaction that this is the one.” you turned from Dean to the mirror and watched him watching you in the reflection. 

“so you got a date to this wedding thing?” Dean said, coughing to clear his throat. 

“honestly hadn’t given it much thought. i’ve spent so much time hunting that getting the invite was a surprise.” you answered, “why? you offering?”

“hell yeah.” Dean laughed, “i mean, if you want me to come.”

“he looks a little raggy but he’s okay.” Shuri said as she took you to the hut. a beautiful man with one arm exited it, seeing you and stopping to stare. 

“hi.” you said, approaching the man with a smile, “i’m Y/N, seems the world needs you again Mr. Barnes.”

“okay, listen man, you’ve been away from most people for a while but you gotta know,” Shuri said after pulling Bucky aside, “staring at a woman like that?! dont be so obvious man!”

“she’s beautiful.” Bucky stated.

“true. you know it. i know it. we all know it. but you have got to pull yourself together!” Shuri said, shaking his arm, “and i am going to help you get a date with her. you’re my new project.”

he loved talking to you and he loved the smart shy thing you had going on. but… you were too nice for your own good. 

you’d be talking with him in the hallway and you’d have to wave to everyone you knew… which was… well, everyone. 

he’d always pretend to be dissatisfied with these interruptions. but he kind of loved it. he loved the way you were always so kind and nice to everyone. the ‘douchebag’ and his ‘princess’ you just balanced each other.
